The Gardeners

The gardeners of Springhouse have been very busy this season.This year, our garden is thriving and we are harvesting tomatoes (cherry, early girl, beefsteak and heirloom), peppers (one jalapeño and three sweet bell), zucchini, summer squash, cucumber (heirloom and Boston Pickler), broccoli, cauliflower, Kentucky Wonder pole beans, sugar snap peas, lettuce, kale, arugula and carrots.

We have also planted a small herb garden featuring basil, parsley, cilantro and dill. This month our Farm to Table cooking group enjoyed Earth Bowl Salads with Smokey Candied Walnuts and Basil Vinaigrette, made with arugula, lettuce, basil and broccoli harvested from the garden. It was soooo good!
