Springhouse and Brookline Boy Scouts Build together!

by / Tuesday, 05 June 2012 / Published in News/Blog

The Brookline Boy Scouts Troop 6 spent a Sunday afternoon this spring assembling and decorating birdhouses with Springhouse residents.  Residents lent a helping hand, holding the wood while the scouts hammered the nails into place.  Together they then decorated these one-of-a-kind birdhouses.

The houses will be hung throughout the grounds of Springhouse.  This is just the start of community program with the Brookline Boy Scouts Troop 6.   They are planning a camp out in the woods surrounding Springhouse and will soon be working on a gardening project to add some new flowers to our Allen House garden!  Springhouse is very happy to have this relationship and be able to provide an intergenerational activity for our residents.  Intergenerational programming can be very rewarding for both the children and our residents.  It is also exciting to offer new programs for our residents to enjoy!
